Dancer"Hi , I want to thank you both, for all you do for Rebecca. She came home from dance excited about dance again. She was born to dance and it is in her soul and when she was doubting herself and sad about dance my heart was sad. It was a wonderful joy to see her smile and bouncy and happy about dance again! You all go above and beyond your call with the girls and with Rebecca and I can't thank you enough for your love and attention to detail and the personal lives of the girls, especially for Rebecca."
Thank you with all my heart!
Dawn Blair

"Words cannot express my appreciation for everything you have done for my daughter Samantha. She came to you as an awkward, insecure little girl whose favorite words were "I can't". Thanks to your knowledge, patience and love, Samantha has blossomed into a graceful, confident, beautiful young lady. As an educator, I am grateful for all you have taught her. As a mother, I thank you for helping me raise my daughter. I am proud and honored to say that Samantha goes to Fabulous Feet Dance Center. "
With all my love and appreciation,
Carolyn Forman

"Dear Miss Robyn, You have not only taught me to dance, but you have shown me that if I want something, all I need to do is work at it and not give up. Eventually "I WILL" achieve my goals."
Sincerely,
Katie Durant

"Dear Miss Robyn, Over the past five years, you have been by my side through every endeavor. Not only did you expand my abilities in dance, but also my skills in life. I've learned so much from your street smarts on boys, awareness of one's surroundings and the world, which I will use throughout my life. No amount of gratitude can express my thanks for all you have given me. I will deeply miss the buoyant atmosphere of the studio; whenever life got tough, you and the girls always made everything seem all right. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers because I think of you as my second mother. Thanks you for the lessons and fond memories. Whenever I'm in town, I'll be sure to stop by and say hello. "
Love Always,
Leah Dunleavy

Things Every Parent Should Know Before Choosing A Dance Studio

If most dance studios seems to have qualified, friendly teachers, experience teaching children and a big show at the end of the year, aren't they all pretty much the same? Does it really matter which place you decide to enroll at? Yes. There are 4 main things that can make a huge difference in the quality of instruction your child receives, the amount of extra work and hassles the parents must deal with and the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of being involved with a dance program. Here are 4 things that every parent should consider before deciding on a dance studio for their child.

What type of dance floor is used?

Dance is a very physical activity that requires a lot of jumping, which can put stress on bones and joints. Most dance footwear does not provide any cushioning or support, so the shock of dance movement can place a lot of pressure on the knees, ankles and back of a dancer. The best way to prevent injury is by choosing a studio with a wood flooring system. A raised wood floor that rests on a full wood casing is designed to actually flex and absorb the shock. Therefore eliminating stress to the body caused by jumps, leaps, and other movements that require the feet to leave the floor.

The top layer of the dance floor is also an important factor. Our topcoat allows dancers to slide, with a degree of "controlled slip," but is not so slippery that students typically slip and fall.  All three of our large dance rooms were constructed with the flooring system explained above.

What is the size of the class?

Our compliance with the Martin and St. Lucie HRS standards provides more than the 16 to 1 ratio that they recommend. All of our classes are lead by a DMA Certified, DEA Certified or College degreed instructor. Classes with more than 8 students are also staffed with assistants who provide additional help. At Fabulous Feet, classes are never taught by minors or individuals without extensive teaching experience.

Limited size classes make sure each student understands the concepts and instructions. This also allows our teachers to ensure that students are not developing bad habits or improper technique.

What are the "extras" required for the year end show?

Most studios put on a year end show in a professional theatre. Students that perform in the show must have a costume for their dance number. Some studios may require parents to sew their child's costumes, or pay extra and the parents must find their own seamstress to do the sewing. This can be inconvenient and frustrating for parents who are busy or can't sew.

Our studio uses our own professional seamstress to sew and alter the costumes, so parents do not have to worry about any costume hassles. In addition, our costume fees include a color copy of each of your child's group photos, a color copy of our recital program and a DVD of our entire recital.

Can I get immediate assistance and customer service?

In many studios the teacher or the studio owner conducts classes and does the administration. By trying to do two jobs at once, the class may suffer as the teacher has to use class time for customer service issues, or the studio may have no customer service available if the teacher is in a class. To have a good experience it is important to choose a studio that can assist you with details like costumes or schedules, even if a teacher is occupied in a class. Our studio secretary, is on hand during all regular class times so you can get immediate assistance.
